Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers | Writer, Director, Producer

Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers is a filmmaker and actor. She is a member of the Kainai First Nation (Blackfoot Confederacy) as well as Sámi from Norway. She co-wrote and co-directed the narrative feature The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open with Kathleen Hepburn, which
premiered at the Berlinale in 2019 and received the Toronto Film Critics Association for best Canadian film. The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open was also nominated for six Canadian Screen Awards; Tailfeathers and Hepburn received the awards for best direction and best
original screenplay. 

Tailfeathers’ feature-length documentary, Kímmapiiyipitssini: The Meaning of Empathy, won the 2022 Canadian Screen Award for Best Feature Length Documentary. Tailfeathers also took home the 2022 Canadian Screen Award for Best Lead Performance by an actress for her role in Danis Goulet's Night Raiders. 
 
Most recently, she directed three episodes of the new Crave limited series, Little Bird. She also appears as Sargeant Isabelle Lacoste in the Prime Video series Three Pines and Darlene Naponse's 2022 film, Stellar.

Lori Lozinski | PRODUCER

Lori Lozinski is an award-winning filmmaker based in Vancouver, BC and the President of Violator Films Inc, an independent production company that has been telling maverick stories since 2007. She is recognized for producing socially-conscious character-driven stories with female creatives. Recent films are the Canada/Norway Co-Produced feature film The Body Remembers When the World Broke Open (Berlinale 2019 World Premiere, Rogers Award for Best Canadian Film, winners of Achievement in Cinematography, Direction, and Original Screenplay by the Canadian Screen Awards 2020); the feature film Sugar Daddy, the short documentary The Pilgrimage she directed and produced for CBC Digital; the immersive 5000 sq ft installation Transmissions with acclaimed artist, Lisa Jackson; and the documentary RETAKE for CBC Digital. Past films include Once There Was A Winter (VIFF 2017) and she Executive Produced Never Steady, Never Still (TlFF 2017 World Premiere). Lori is an alumna of Norman Jewison’s Canadian Film Centre, Trans Atlantic Partners, Women In The Director’s Chair, the Rotterdam Lab and was nominated for the 2019 CMPA Indie Screen Award nominee for Established Producer.

David Christensen | Producer/ Executive Producer

David Christensen is an Executive Producer at the National Film Board of Canada. He manages the North West Studio, which looks after NFB documentary, animation and interactive production in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Recent films from the North West Studio include Tasha Hubbard’s nîpawistamâsowin: We Will Stand Up, WALL, directed by Cam Christiansen, Alethea Arnaquq-Baril’s Angry Inuk, The Tournament, directed by Sam Vint, and Supreme Law, directed by Katerina Cizek. In total, the NWS has about 25–30 projects in development and production at any one time.
